Welcome to the Indian Cricket Team
Today, a proud day for Escorts and in many ways a proud day for the country. I met with Mr. #Mohit Sharma the young passionate cricketer, who is now part of the Indian cricket team. He is the son of our employee, Mr. Mahipal Sharma (working in Escorts Railway division for the past 30 years)
Both my father and I met with him and spent time in getting to know this young man. I asked him, how long has he been playing the game for? And quite promptly he replied “I have my three meals of the day and thereafter all I do and think of is #CRICKET”
I then asked him, what it felt like to be a part of the #IndianCricketTeam.
“Expectations have gone up, but I am looking forward to it. I am one of the three fast bowlers in the team and I am looking forward to playing against #Zimbabwe”, he confidently answered.
As he spoke, I saw his father quietly sitting beside him and I could see how proud he was of his son and so were we……
At the end, I shared what I read about my cousin Ranbir Kapoor in the recent ‘India Today’ interview. His mother, (Mrs #NeetuKapoor) in her interview commented “I sometime feel that I have given birth to a yogi, coz when he (Ranbir) has a smash hit in the box office or a flop, I don’t see a change in his expression. He is so calm and relaxed about life…”
I think the ability to do this is simply fantastic!!
#Ranbir has become an inspiration to me too and this interview was an important lesson for me and others. That we all must live our life as per the expectations of our choices and not that of the worlds…
Mohit and I agreed with this principle and he felt better to focus on his expectations to play good cricket than oppose to expectations from others…
Good luck Mohit!! We will cheer for you and for our #India!
