The only difference between a Bad Day and a Good Day is your Attitude!

2223 The only difference between a Bad Day and a Good Day is your Attitude!

Yes, what you feel is what you see and many times our feeling can make us see things not in its true nature. Let me elaborate this a bit more to give a larger perspective.

For these past few weeks, I have been travelling extensively with my team to connect with our #dealers across all the states in #India. In these visits I got to see and meet with our dealers in a very close proximity . In one of my visits I met one particular dealer, who stood out in attitude and saw no hindrances when it came to approaching and satisfying the #customer. So in one region two dealers with the same circumstances had very different results. The dealer whose attitude was that of winning and getting it done was able to get it done and the other who was more focused on the hindrances, got more of it!

So in short, two of them had very very different experiences.. One had many of bad days and the other had many of good. The opportunity to both were common, products were the same but it was attitude that made all the difference of them having their good and bad days. The dealer with the great attitude was so vibrant with his goals and ambition that so much so while he was only appointed two months back, told me with confidence “Sir, next year at this time I will have you give me an award of being one of your largest dealer!” I was already impressed with the results of his two months performance. What he had sold in two months was perhaps equal to six months of other dealers average sales! I asked him with deep curiosity about how he did all this so well? And he started to explain it with great passion, the actions he had taken in developing a culture that was aimed to satisfy all our customers.

His explanation was simple, clear and very strategic. For a moment I felt as if I was speaking to a graduate #MBA student from one of our top universities. At the end of our conversation, I finally asked him about what he had done prior to taking our dealership and the answer totally shocked me and I am not making this up. He said” Sir, we used to sell medications earlier, we did distribution of all pharmaceutical products. And when Mr. #Modi got appointed, we felt within the family to diversify our business network into construction equipment and from our research we came to choose your company because of your products that we think are most competitively placed and therefore decided to approach your company for taking the dealership”

A man who was selling medications just three months back is now one of our fastest growing dealer in the #construction business…UNBELIEVABLE!!

From medication to selling a machine ….. I know this is a tough one to digest. But it’s true…
From the two dealer example that I spoke about above, he is the one with the right attitude (and that too without any particular experience about this industry) in contrast to the other dealer having a few years of experience of the industry.

This experience was truly an exceptional one for me and I am so moved by it that I felt I must share this with you all. So, in short an attitude can get you to become a top performing dealer while three months back one would not know abcd about the business…

In todays’s world if we need to learn about something then just tap into #Google or #YouTube. Our Prime Minister puts it so well, when he refers to #Google as Guru! Yes, knowledge is not just in class rooms anymore, it’s all on the net and just a few clicks away and thus available to each one of us and were we to have the right #attitude and #gratitude, we will have the success formula of having many good days ahead….

May each day of ours be great because we decide to make them wonderful. I know we can if we have the right #attitude. God bless!!!

    Dear sir,
Very well said..Attitude is only one thing in us, which decides how we see a perticular thing, what we choose to do, what we actually do and ultimately what we get back.
Some call it as fate, but actually they are our deeds in past, which comes to us.

For possitive attitude, Meditation is a correct way of life. I think and practice the same.
On corporate level, if we inculcate the culture of meditation training, it will be helpful in all respect.

    Thank you

    Dear Sir
Nice and inspiring case of the two dealers
Our Prime Minister has brought amazing confidence in numerous Indians
To chase their dreams and put faith in Story of India
He has attracted global attention for this
He is a Visionary and wants to bring Indian truly on the Global Stage
The sector “Construction Equipment” business is rightly identified by the dealer as the upcoming good sector
Few other related sectors looks like to grow on Modi Ji wave: Cement, EPC, Infra, etc.
Its just like that with boom of E-Commerce the related sector which will witness tremendous growth is Courier Sector
Even Sir I have read Investment Strategies of John Neff, one of the greatest investors, that Neff would buy companies connected to it, i.e. investing in company which is going to benefit directly from the boom company. The other strategy he used to buy companies with low P/E ratios.
Surprisingly many companies specially mfg. ones in India has low Market Cap than their annual revenues. Hence they are under valued or failing to excite share holders to put faith in them. On contrast the new IT or E-Commerce related companies are successfully raising millions of dollars from PEs.
But more curiously, one of the best return in last 5 years posted was from Eicher Group, which is a mfg. firm, its shares climbed to 10000 from 400 in 5 years, a return of 25 times. One of their best performing units is right now Royal Enfield.
Hence Mfg. actually holds more promise actually.
With “Make in India” campaign by our PM Modi Ji, mfg. in India holds good prospects.
Escorts is also one of the revered mfg. and nation building firm in my view.
    Thanks and Regards
