My Trip to the US and Germany
I write this blog from my flight to #Delhi from New York and I reflect on the three weeks that I spent, while I was away from you all.
My first week was my personal time with my mother and a promise which I made to her, to spend the Diwali day with her. I arrived on the #Diwali eve into New York and we were just four of us. My sister ( who has stood by her mother for these past ten months and for taking such excellent care of her! Very blessed to have her as my sister ), my Masi ( Rima Jain, a sister who has stood by my mom for these past ten months. An incredible support to us all and rare in today’s time to find such a sibling willing to make sacrifices for one another! I am thankful to God and to her for showcasing this support, which is not seen often in today’s times. My mother and we all are very fortunate to call her sister and our aunt! )
We four sat and did our small Puja and reminded ourselves of the joy of spending such special moments with people we love. We often, take such things for granted.. Don’t let an illness remind you about mortality of your loved ones. Try and spend as much time that you get from your busy schedule with your loved ones! I know that I remind myself of this every day.
My second week was my time in Germany at #Hannover for our launch of World Series #tractors. A very special moment for our company to share the stage jointly at one time with our European partners and few select Indian dealers along with our top team and our union leaders.
This was an incredible mix of people at one time, at one place and at one of the largest #agricultural shows of the world. And it provided the team with an experience which was multidimensional and one of it’s kind. This was one of my most momentary experiences and a day which will remind me of a turning point in building #EscortsLimited into a blue chip company.
The unions body’s presence at the event itself was a change that was visible to both the internal and external world.
The fair gave the team an opportunity to see and touch the future of the products that were showcased by some of the worlds most respected names !
My deepest pleasure was to see the reactions and comments that came from our unions members on seeing these products…… This was an eye opener experience for them and got them to see what was coming in the future to #India ! They also spoke with all our dealers and I thought that it was an incredible moment. Our partners were hearing the views about our growth ambitions from the union leaders directly!
Was this planned? No it was not, I requested Mr. Moolchand (the president of Union body) to speak briefly and he did from his heart and he spoke incredibly well)
Here again, a turning point where the leader himself speaks of strategy and talks about the support he and other three thousand men promise to extend to all our partners. The voice of commitment and the spirit of partnership came out very strong here. It was a great moment! And I enjoyed hearing him speak.
(Have posted some pictures of the event at the photo gallery – have a look).
My last week was with my mother again, since we agreed to spend two weeks together. This week was spent in planning my mothers return to India in mid January ( fingers crossed ! ) and she returns after spending ten months of treatment for cancer at #Sloan Kettering. We all are so looking forward to having her back home.
We have one hour before we land into Delhi and today is my son’s 13th birthday (23rd November) and I am so looking forward to spending the weekend with him and his friends and in celebrating it! Shall miss my daughter, as she is at school in #London.
Kids grow up fast and hate to be treated as kids, but I look forward to doing what annoys him the most, to give him a big hug and a kiss when I reach home tonight! Shall rethink on doing the same when he turns 21… What you think?
Happy to be back and look forward to connecting with you all.
Looks like the blog is as long as my flying time to Delhi today, did not realise that I wrote so much! Oops
